  LEGO has joined forces with Bob the Builder to come up with the ultimate in construction toys: Bob & Scoop on the Road.

  Combining the learning of the LEGO Duplo range, which encourages children to develop basic construction skills, and the appeal of popular children's character Bob the Builder, this kit is sure to be a hit. Full of bright, chunky pieces, when put together the kit makes Bob's right-hand vehicle Scoop, which, together with the Bob figure included, offers a multitude of opportunities for role-play and creative play.

  Aimed at children from two years old, the kit includes full-colour instructions that illustrate how to put the vehicle together. Two-year-olds won't be able to follow these alone, but with parental supervision the kits are simple enough that they will soon be able to remember what goes where. Four or five-year-olds will be able to follow the instructions, and this activity in itself is of educational benefit. The instructions include a step-by-step guide to building Scoop, as well as a number of suggested scenarios for creative play. They also show the different ways of putting Scoop together to create a variety of vehicles. Once children have used these as inspiration, the kit can extend to satisfy any of their own Bob the Builder stories.

  Bob and Scoop are great representations of the screen characters and will be instantly recognisable to any Bob fan. Scoop has movable arms and buckets front and rear, a plastic orange "light" (not operational) on the flip-top roof of the driver's cab and his trademark smiley face. The front digger really does scoop things up and when used with the other elements of the kit (including a "wall" brick and a "sign post" brick,) it has extensive play value.
